Water Leak Detection in Bunbury

We were recently contacted by a customer who needed help with water leak detection in Bunbury.

They had a small water leak in their driveway that was not possible to be heard via acoustic sound equipment.

We induced tracer gas into the system via a tap on the property in order to help detect the source.

Once the leak was found we repaired the pipe submitted a water corporation leak allowance form for the customer to get a rebate.

At Southwest Leak Detection we are one of a few companies that use the hydrogen tracer gas method in Western Australia. This is one of the most versatile and cutting edge testing systems available today.

The tracer gas used to find water leaks is a mixture of hydrogen (5%) and nitrogen (95%) making it completely safe to use in drinking water pipes being both non toxic and non corrosive. Hydrogen is the lightest of all gases so as it spreads throughout the leak location and rises to the top making it easier to find even the smallest leak with no noise interference.
