Water Leak Detection in Monkey Mia

Recently we were contacted for water leak detection in Monkey Mia.

The water tanks at Monkey Mia RAC resort were losing thousands of litres per day. This was causing the pump to start to burn out from excessive use.

We were called to locate the leak and the next day made the drive to help out.

The leak was on a 110mm plastic pipe with a length of a 1km and was located near the resort in the car park.

The leak was found using both our acoustic sound equipment and commercial tracer gas methods.

Acoustic detection equipment is used to localise the lowest consistent noise emitted by water escaping the pipework where the pipes have burst, whilst reducing noise from interfering objects and people.

The tracer gas used to find water leaks is a mixture of hydrogen (5%) and nitrogen (95%) making it completely safe to use in drinking water pipes being both non toxic and non corrosive. Hydrogen is the lightest of all gases so as it spreads throughout the leak location and rises to the top making it easier to find even the smallest leak with no noise interference.

At Southwest Leak Detection we take into consideration the damage water can have on a home or business.

We are confident that our state-of-the-art leak detection equipment will find any leak that you may have.
