Leak Detection Underneath Concrete in Busselton

This recent job was for leak detection underneath concrete in Busselton.

The customer had called in a plumber previously, but they were unable to locate the leak.

They explained what was happening to us and we came to site and found that there was a small leak underneath the exposed aggregate concrete driveway.

We induced tracer gas into the system and located the leak near the mains water. Unfortunately, due to the way the pipes were originally installed, a re-run was required.

We dug up along the side of the concrete, then made a conduit underneath the driveway. This was to ensure that no concrete was damaged, this would be a costly procedure.

The pipe was then reconnected to the house and all of the garden reinstated.

The tracer gas used to find water leaks is a mixture of hydrogen (5%) and nitrogen (95%) making it completely safe to use in drinking water pipes being both non toxic and non corrosive. Hydrogen is the lightest of all gases so as it spreads throughout the leak location and rises to the top making it easier to find even the smallest leak with no noise interference.

Searching for a water leak is a non-destructive solution to finding your leak.
