We were recently contacted for our leak detection service in Old Dunsborough. The plumber called us out to locate a small leak on the property.
Upon arrival it was determined there was a leak on the toilet. However, after isolating the toilet there was still a small leak occuring on the property.
The pipe was found using a pipe tracer to show the location and the depth of pipe.
We induced a tracer gas into the system and managed to located the leak underneath a garden bed, 890mm down in the ground.
The tracer gas used to find water leaks is a mixture of hydrogen (5%) and nitrogen (95%) making it completely safe to use in drinking water pipes being both non toxic and non corrosive. Hydrogen is the lightest of all gases so as it spreads throughout the leak location and rises to the top making it easier to find even the smallest leak with no noise interference.
