We attended Dunsborough Industrial Estate as we had been contacted for our industrial leak detection services. There was a strata property comprising of multiple units facing an issue with an unusually high water bill.
Upon inspection, we discovered a small leak, equivalent to 1 litre of water being lost every 5 minutes. Using our advanced pipe tracing methods, we determined that the pipe extended beneath the road and into the buildings. We marked this path out with chalk spray.
Given the minuscule size of the leak, traditional acoustic detection methods proved to be ineffective. To pinpoint the leak accurately, we introduced commercial tracer bottled gas into the system.
This leak proved to be one of the most challenging we’ve encountered, located 1.6 meters deep below a water table and within a sleeved pipe under the road.
